Delicious savory scones are perfect for Fathers day breakfast
I am a scone lover. Sometimes I enjoy sweet, but other times savory. My palette at breakfast tends to be savory. These Bacon Cheddar scones are the perfect addition to breakfast. Enjoy with eggs anyway you like them, an add on for brunch, on the side of quiche, or alone. However you want to enjoy them, I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
These scones are flavorful, soft and easy to put together. They can also be created with variations. Add ham, or parsley. You can even vary the cheese. I've shown you the traditional bowl version but they can be made in a food processor as well. I hope they inspire you to get creative!

Stir in cheese, chives and bacon. Then pour in the buttermilk and combine mixture.
turn the dough out unto a lightly floured surface and fatten until approx. 1/2 inch thick.
Use a biscuit cutter to cut out the biscuits, or create a traditionally round shape and cut wedges. place on prepared baking sheet. this recipe makes 10 if using 3" cutter
In a separate bowl, whisk egg and water and then brush egg wash on top of biscuits. This gives them a nice golden finish when baking.
